University of Nottingham codeathon: Students impress on this two day session

Tuesday and Wednesday this week brought about our fifth codeathon of the challenge and our first away from the nations capital since King’s back on the 6th November.

Having provided one of our 12 finalists last year, we were very excited about seeing what the students of Nottingham could do the second time around with the Android platform and an array of beautiful Note devices.

Last year Nottingham led the way with their two day split codeathons which have this year become very popular, giving the students a well earned break between sessions and keeping fresh ideas and hard work flowing throughout. It also means two lots of pizza!

The stunning Jubilee Campus was the perfect backdrop for the first half of coding action and the students, some returning after competing last year didn’t fail to impress.

Here are the three that wowed us and took home the spoils…

Team Teversal: Steven Fountain and Alex Dransfield

Team AJ9: Adam Gask

 Alexandru Ghitulescu

Alex was one of last year’s finalists, though didn’t take home one of the top three prizes but he has shown his determination to do so this year and came first in the codeathon judging (again)

These four coding whiz kids above are part of an exclusive club of codeathon winners and we hope to be seeing more from them and their fellow students in the coming weeks and months!

As ever, you can follow or catch up on all the codeathon antics via our dedicated Facebook, Twitter and even Instagram accounts.
