Angry Birds intros motion-control gaming for Smart TV

Angry Birds serves as a pretty good measure for the success of any platform, and it should also help inspire others to get involved with the Samsung Smart TV platform.

Samsung’s deal with Rovio at the start of the year has now seen the first of the Angry Birds franchise appearing on a select range of Smart TVs in the Samsung portfolio (namely the 7500 LCD models and up, plus the 8000 plasma models).

The game is entirely controlled by motion gestures, using the camera fitted as standard on these models, doing away with the need to try and use the TV remote to master the complex angles and power levels required to master the game. It’s a totally unique experience for the game, and one that really adds to the fun that can be had by the whole family.

Even better is the news that the game is free, and available now to download via the Samsung Smart Hub.

We can only imagine what it would look like on Samsung’s forthcoming 75-inch ES9000 LCD monster!
